The room: 20 × 16 ft, 8 ft ceiling (2,560 ft³), clean water (Category 1), wet carpet and pad with the drywall wicked 12–18″ up (Class 2). Air movers: one every 10–16 ft of wall, 72 ft round → 5 to 8, angled along the wall and all turning the air the same way. Dehumidifier: 2,560 ft³ ÷ 60 for an LGR at Class 2 ≈ 43 pints a day to start. Close the room so the dehumidifier dries this air, not the whole house's.

Red: air movers (tap to aim)Blue: LGR dehumidifier; airflow along the wallsBlue tint: wet carpet and wicked drywallGreen ring: where a piece can goEquipment counts use the same rules as the Restoration Lab calculators: air movers one per 10–16 linear feet of affected wall, dehumidifier capacity from the room's cubic feet ÷ a class factor (LGR, Class 2: 60). The drying model is simplified for teaching; on a real loss, take readings every day and adjust to them, following the current IICRC S500 and the equipment maker's ratings.
